My mixed media encaustic collages consist of many layers of images, color, and patterns.  I do not start with a preconceived image, but work with each layer to see how each new element relates to the former. It is a process of concealing and revealing in which the final image gradually grows.  It is like an archeological dig at times.  When searching for collage elements, I am often amazed how text that refelcts my thoughts just seem to appear.  It is a very exciting process for me that reflects overlapping ideas and a stream of thought and emotion.
