Spring Workshops 2013:
May 18 & 19 Introductory Class
June 22 & 23 Mixed media and collage with encaustic

I offer a contemporary approach to this versatile and exciting medium of painting with wax.  Classes are small with alot of individual attention and guidance.
In the introductory class, I teach studio safety, manipulation and texturing of the wax surface, controlling the transparency of the paint, image transfer, layering, oil stick, collage, and mixed-media.

The Mixed media and collage class is for artists with experience in encaustic who want to further develop their skills and imagery.  We will work with a variety of materials, transfer techniques, in a reductive as well as additive process.

Workshops are from 10 am to 3 pm. in my studio in Saco, Maine.
Cost is $ 220 and includes most materials.

Pre-registration and deposit are required.
Please email dbz@maine.rr.com for supply list, registration form, and further details or to be added to my email list for future offerings.
Private lessons are available upon request.
Workshops are conducted in my studio in Saco, Maine, on the coast between Portland and Kennebunkport.
Class size is limited to four, allowing alot of personal attention and guidance.  I enjoy sharing my expertise, enthusiasm for art , and over ten years of experience with encaustic.  Students with a wide variety of artistic experience attend my classes, each bringing a unique response to the medium.  I encourage individual interests, especially when the artists want to combine the encaustic with their work in other media.
I look forward to hearing from you and introducing you to this exciting and fun medium.  dbz@maine.rr.com
